Wheel Restorations & Replicas
WHEEL RESTORATION PROCESS
The Wheel Shop at Hansen Wheel & Wagon Shop
For over 40 years, we’ve been building, restoring and repairing authentic wood-spoke wheels. Tim, our wheelwright, can accurately reproduce any wood-hub, Sarven-style and Archibald wheel.
Restoration Process
Leah, our production manager, works closely with our customers and our wheelwright to ensure that projects run smoothly from start to finish. The restoration process begins with an estimate based on customer provided photos, dimensions and end-use plans for the wheels. Once the initial estimate is approved, a 50% deposit along with any necessary original wheel components are sent to our shop for final estimating, after which we begin constructing the replacement parts. Average turn-around time on complete wheel restoration is between 6-8 months. Once the wheels are completed, final payment is required prior to shipment. We can also provide incoming and outgoing shipping estimates.
