Our customer purchased this iconic sprinkler wagon from our inventory of antique wagons. This original Studebaker water wagon had all the potential to become a one-of-a-kind collector's piece and our customer loved the idea of preserving all the original parts, paint and patina.
We started with an evaluation of what parts were missing and worked to procure authentic replacements. A thorough, yet delicate cleaning, removed the years of grime from all the nooks and crannies of the wood and metal components. A penetrating sealer for brightening the finish and enhancing the existing paint and lettering was applied. The most time consuming aspect of this preservation was the restoration of the sprinkling system. Our customer was thrilled with the results.
