Solid oak paraffin lined barrel. 5, 10, 15 Gallon sizes available.

These quality solid oak barrels are reinforced with galvanized metal hoops- made to last!

They are paraffin lined to insure water tightness and have solid ends with a bilge bore and bung. Light toasting is evident from the heating/bending process. Because of the paraffin lining, they are not designed for aging wine.

Ideal for movie and theatre props or for use on your wagon. Store in a cool, dry place.

Care Info

Storage Conditions

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent warping.
  • If used outdoors, keep it protected from excessive moisture or extreme temperatures, which can cause wood expansion and contraction.

Cleaning (For Liquid Use)

  • Rinse with warm water only after each use.
  • Avoid soap, harsh chemicals, or hot water, as these can degrade the paraffin lining.
  • If odors develop, use a mild solution of warm water and baking soda, then rinse thoroughly.

Preventing Drying & Cracking

  • While the paraffin lining reduces the need for hydration, the wood exterior can still dry out over time.
  • If stored in a very dry environment, occasionally mist the outside with water or use a food-safe wood conditioner to prevent excessive drying.

Barrel Bands & Maintenance

  • If the metal bands become loose due to wood shrinkage, they can be driven back onto the bulge of the barrel and resecured.
  • This can be done using a rubber mallet or a wooden block and hammer, ensuring they are snug against the staves.

For Decorative or Display Use

  • If not used for liquids, periodic dusting and a light application of wood oil or wax on the exterior can help maintain the barrel’s appearance.
  • If using outdoors, consider applying a UV-protective wood sealant to preserve its look and durability.
