Farm Wagon Restoration

This John Deere Iron-Clad Wagon restoration focused on highlighting the artistry and marketing strategy of the John Deere Company. Each emblem and stencil was painstakingly recreated to represent the historic wagon as it first rolled off the factory floor.

Using an authentic John Deere wagon that we procured for our client, who is an avid John Deere collector, we started this project by cleaning and documenting the original wagon. As we moved through the process and offered restoration options, our client determined that he wanted the wagon restored to it's original glory. We opted to rebuild the wagon box and seat, using original hardware, to ensure that the paint and detailing reflected his vision. The wheels and running gear were restored, repaired and sanded. Once we had all components prepared for paint, we proceeded to create a factory finish using several coats of paint in an historic John Deere color pallet. The stencils were carefully researched and replicated by an artisan who has spent over 40 years recreating the embellishments on horse-drawn vehicles.
