Mormon Hand Cart
06/27/2007
This unique vehicle is a replica of the hand carts used during the Mormon migrations in the e1850’s. The unique construction required no iron, only wood joints and pegs held it together.
The mortise and tennon joinery produced a very sturdy cart that was capable of enduring a 1300-mile journey.
This cart will be displayed in the Fort Laramie National Historic Site Museum of Laramie Wyoming.
Abbot-Downing Mud Wagon
06/27/2007
We just recently completed this replica of an Abbot-Downing mud wagon.
This coach was made to carry 20 passengers.
Like all Mud Wagon Stagecoaches, it rides on leather thorough braces.
The coach will be used in the old gold rush historical town of Barkerville B.C. Canada. www.barkerville.ca/newindex/index0.html
Yosemite Coach
06/27/2007
This is a historic coach that we are restoring for the Madera County Historical Society of California.
This coach was used to take tour groups out into the newly established Yosemite national park.
It is purported that Teddy Roosevelt, father of the national park system, road in this coach on his visits to the park.
