Historic Restoration

Hansen Wheel & Wagon Shop(Coach builder) is working with Ken Wheeling (Historian) to provide unique historic stagecoach services. This combined attention to detail is essential for maintaining the historical integrity of each piece.

We also have examples of our standards restorations.

No. 84 - This original coach had a great provenance from the Butterfield line with very little of the original finish left,  yet enough for us to accurately interpret it. Our client chose to have a historical treatment applied. This coach is now on exhibibit in Carterville, GA.

No. 670 - Built in 1860 by JS & EA Abbott of Concord, NH, this is the oldest coach that we have preserved to date, but was also one of the most intact coaches with very few repairs or alterations. It serves as a great testimonial to the concord coach's durability and resides in the Fort Worth, Wells Fargo Museum.

No. 421- Built in 1878 by Abbott & Downing, this coach served on coach lines and then ended up as a movie coach, starring in several famous movies. We documented several signatures and markings left by the craftsmen who built this coach. This coach resides in a private collection.
