Crafting a Hitch Wagon
Our Hansen Wheel and Wagon Shop authentic design, custom-built wagons blend old-world attention to detail and original design with quality parts and workmanship. Each wagon begins with careful research and documentation of the design and construction of the original horse-drawn wagons. You'll find excellent workmanship such as mortise and tenon joinery on the frame and chamfering of the body members. Much thought is given to the wagon's durability, that's why all metal parts are sandblasted and epoxy primed before assembly, to inhibit rust. This attention to detail and design throughout the entire construction of our wagons is what sets them apart. Our craftsmen look forward to working closely with each individual customer to insure your complete satisfaction.

The Painted Finish
is the most visible aspect of the wagon's design. We use epoxy primer and premium quality finishes, plus the same attention to detail that we give the rest of the wagon, to assure a mirror finish. Professional hand-striping and lettering give that customized finishing touch.

“The importance of first class appearance and presentation is high in priority with Express Clydesdales. The Express show wagon, custom-designed and constructed by Hansen Wheel and Wagon Shop, presents a style and character adding that special 'touch of class' that we look for with our magnificent hitch in competition, exhibition and special appearances. Hansen's attention to detail in their workmanship and design in re-creating the authenticity of that era in their wagons is second to none.” - Don Langille, Express Clydesdales
