        Newton Chuck Wagon

Design A- All Original Wagon

George Engish was in search of a mint original wagon to use on his Dos Euquis Ranch in Arizona. When we presented this exceptional high wheeled Newton wagon he fell in love. Together we developed the theme of this piece and outfitted it with numerous antiques and cowboy trappings. He chose an original wagon because he wanted a historic wagon with integrity that he could claim is an 1880 Newton chuck wagon, not a reproduction.

         Weber Chuck Wagon

Design B- Original Wagon with St. Louis Risers

Rolf Brunner was seeking an antique original wagon. We selected a Weber Columbus wagon from our vast inventory with high wheels and St. Louis Risers. We preserved the original paint and any of the new equipment added on (i.e. the chuck box and barrels) went though an antiquing process to match the wagon's original patina. All antiques were choose from our stock of memorabilia to complete this trail duty chuck wagon.

         Newton Chuck Wagon

Design C- Fully Loaded Chuck Wagon with a Pup

For Steven Butler we constructed one of our most complete chuck wagons. We restored an original Newton equipped with everything from a unique hand forged chuck box, belly boxes, built in knife racks, pull out spice racks, pup pan boot, rough lock, shoeing kit, and saddle. Also added in was a collection of antique cooking utensils, making this a turn key ranch wagon. Upon leaving our shop it was ready to set up camp and feed a mess of hungry cowboys!

        Winona Chuck Wagon

Design D- All New Wagon with Antique Paint

You may have seen Les and Lida Darcy's wagon competing in one of many chuck wagon cook-offs across Texas. This Winona has gone though our historic restoration process. It has a new running gear but we have applied a worn and weathered finish to give it's aged look. This is our most complex application taking multiple procedures to obtain the old age finish on the new surfaces.

            New Chuck Wagon

Design E- Entirely New Wagon with Oak Stain Finish

Rob Nichols of Alberta, Canada owns this custom wagon with steel skeined mountain running gears and operates it at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. This chuck wagon is built with entirely new construction, every piece of iron is forged and every board is hand crafted. This makes for a very durable wagon ready to put to hard use.

                  Bain Chuck Wagon

Design F- Original Running Gear, New Box and Components

This chuck wagon can be seen displayed at the Flying H Ranch in Wyoming or at various polo matches. This Bain chuck wagon has the original wide track 60" steel skeined mountain wagon running gear. We replicated the wagon box using patterns from the original using rivet construction and full 14" yellow poplar lumber. Additional chuck box accessories include knife rack, cutting board, copper top, dishpan rack, silverware drawer, and lantern rack.

            Peter Schuttler Chuck Wagon

Design G- Original Gear and New California Rack Bed Box

The Hoy Ranch of Kansas puts this rugged California Rack Bed to work on the ranch and trail rides. This is our most rugged heavy duty chuck wagon patterned after the unique western design forged by the mountains of California. The California Rack Bed has oak 2" x  6" sills with side boards attached to stakes pockets and a rigid mounted seat positioned high above the box for optimal control of multiple hitches. This particular chuck wagon is built on an original restored Peter Schuttler 9" skeined running gear.

                     Peter Schuttler Chuck Wagon

Design H- Original Gear with New Wagon Box and Color Stain

Vincent Zanivich was in need of a wagon for trail rides and for competing in mule competitions. We choose a mint Peter Schuttler running gear and constructed a new wagon box, for a finish he picked out a bright green color stain on the body and red on the under carriage. We are pleased to say that this wagon helped Vincent to win the 2008 Americana Class Mule Days in Bishop, California!

            Beer Keg Chuck Wagon

Design I- Entertainment Wagon with Beer Keg

Paul Shirley of Montana, envisioned a wagon to entertain guests. Upon sharing his ideas we came up with the ultimate wagon for social gatherings. It has the complete set up with a refrigerated barrel that acts as a beer keg, and a blender in the chuck box for the bartender to whip up mixed drinks.

Life on the range in Dakota territory before barbwire.

"We put in long hours in the saddle, and made roundup after roundup.  Breakfast at dawn, riding circle to throw a roundup together; working the herd after the noon meal; stopping range work to go to Evarts to bring out new cattle; branding, dipping, or something, continually.  We were pelted with rainstorms; hail pounded us a lot; wind beat the hills and dried the range.  But we had long, pleasant days, too, and the hours flew by.  We were a well-fed crew, well mounted, and liked our work." Ike Blasingame, Dakota Cowboy-My Life In the Old Days.
